This Privacy Policy explains how CyberShorts ("CyberShorts," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use the CyberShorts mobile application and any related services (together, the "Service").
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Policy. If you do not agree with this Policy, please do not use the Service.
If you choose to create an account, we collect the information you provide, which may include your email address, username, display name, and phone number. An account is optional — you can browse the feed and events list without one, but you'll need an account to save stories, RSVP to events, or delete your account.
We automatically collect limited technical information needed to operate the Service reliably, such as device type, operating system and version, app version, language settings, and basic diagnostic or crash information. This helps us fix bugs and keep the app stable — it is not used to build an advertising profile of you.
CyberShorts does not require payment information, and we do not request precise real-time location. We do not knowingly collect any information beyond what is described in this Policy.
We use the information described above to:
CyberShorts aggregates news stories and event listings from third-party publishers and organizers, and every story links back to its original source. When you tap through to read a full article or register for an event, you leave the CyberShorts app and become subject to that third party's own privacy practices, which we do not control. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any third-party site you visit.
We may also use third-party service providers — for example, infrastructure hosting, crash reporting, and analytics tools — to operate and improve the Service. These providers only receive the information necessary to perform their function and are not permitted to use it for their own independent purposes.
The Service may display advertising supplied by third-party advertising partners to support the free version of the app. These partners may use technical identifiers (such as a device or advertising identifier) to help measure ad performance. We do not sell your account information, saved stories, or reading history to advertisers.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain account information for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the Service. If you request deletion of your account from Settings, we will process that request within 7 working days, after which your account information is deleted or anonymized, except where we are required or permitted to retain certain information for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.
The Service is not directed to children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise most of these directly in the app:
CyberShorts may process and store information in countries other than the one in which you reside. Wherever your information is processed, we apply the protections described in this Policy.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of the Service after a change becomes effective means you accept the revised Policy.
